Art of Leadership for Philanthropic Leaders

Take a leap forward towards being a more powerful, effective, and collaborative leader in the world of philanthropy.

Description

The Art of Leadership for Philanthropic Leaders is a 5-day retreat-style training that brings together foundation executives & board members, program officers, donors, corporate sponsors, and other leaders leveraging financial resources for social good.

During these 5 days, you’ll have the space to connect with others who understand the unique leadership challenges facing the foundation and philanthropic world and discover how to sustain yourself in this work for the long-haul.

Rockwood’s Art of Leadership will provide you with:

  • Concrete Skills. Learn and practice key skills, like having difficult conversations, dealing with stress and challenging emotions, partnering with others across issue areas, and planning for large and small projects

  • Space to Slow Down. Allow yourself to be completely present and focused on connecting with yourself and your work, while in a caring, supportive community.

  • Supportive Community. You are not alone. Connect deeply with people in your movement, in other issue areas, even outside of the nonprofit sector, and leave with a new definition of community.

Each section of the training focuses on one of Rockwood’s 6 core practices. Through guided meditation, small group exercises, games, and deep reflection, you’ll be introduced to each and learn new ways to bring them into your daily life.

Details

The Art of Leadership is more like a retreat than a training. Participants come together for 5 full days to engage with their inner wisdom and learn and practice leadership together. The Rockwood team makes arrangements for each participant to have an individual room at the venue and provides meals and snacks for the week so that you can focus completely on yourself and your leadership.

Participants are responsible for their own travel to and from the venue.
